Perhaps one of the most surprising and wonderful things to come out of KIN has been the inspiration to create more innovation networks around on the world.KIN Global, our annual summit, brings together innovators and entrepreneurs from more than twenty countries to share insight and ideas for three extraordinary days. In the afterglow, several groups of KINians over the years have been energized to start and run their own networks.
The first was KIN ASEAN, a forum for 100 invited delegates from all over Southeast Asia that takes place each December in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is a independent event, but takes place during the annual Mark Plus, Inc., marketing conference. Veteran KINian Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper collaborated with KIN Senior Fellow Peter Bryant to adapt the KIN model for COIN, the Colorado Innovation Network. Kelly Quann,, a former KIN Student Leader, served as the COIN's first director. The Japan Innovation Network (JIN) primary focus is on enhancing innovation initiatives at mid-size and larger corporations. Toward that end, however, it also provides services to universities, researchers, start-up hubs, public agencies and embassies, creating a vibrant and unique cross-disciplinary network. Each year, all of these organizations are represented at KIN Global and together our "network of networks" grows stronger. |
